The Strictly Lockdown Quiz

We should have all been coming together on Saturday 16 May for a night of glitz and glamour at Strictly Seashell 2020, however due to the pandemic we have had to postpone Strictly Seashell until March 20th, 2021.

Make Events and Gethin Jones were due to be hosting Strictly Seashell for us again this year so they have kindly decided to come together to bring the guests, dancers and supporters together and raise valuable funds for Seashell Trust in the form of a virtual Lockdown Strictly Seashell Quiz.

Deaf Awareness Week 4-10 May

Deaf Awareness Week is taking place 4 – 10 May 2020, raising awareness and challenging perceptions of hearing loss and deafness across the UK.

As part of Seashell’s Deaf Awareness Week campaign, Seashell’s British Sign Language Tutor, June Battye has challenged Seashell's staff and supporters to develop their British Sign Language skills or to refresh existing skills by learning how to sign ‘I Can Sing a Rainbow’.

Rainbows have become a sign of hope amid the coronavirus crisis and we hope to bring Team Seashell and our community together to celebrate our campaign.

Seashell Trust are offering FREE online home schooling signing classes for children, starting on Wednesday 6 May 2020.

The classes are part of an 8-week course designed especially for children.  Each class will last 30 minutes.

Seashell Trust, like so many charities across the UK, has been hugely impacted by the cancellation of thousands of fundraising events due to Covid-19.

In response, the organisers of the biggest mass participation sports events across the country have come together to create a new campaign to raise vital funds to help our fundraising and save the UK’s charities.

This is a one day workshop offering an introduction into the behavioural approach to sleep.  We are offering the workshop on either 12 March 2020, 9.30am-2.30pm OR 18 June 2020, 9.30am-2.30pm.

Our practical training is ideal for those looking to improve their communication with children and young people with disabilities. No prior knowledge is necessary.

The three day course will focus on signing using British Sign Language (BSL) as part of a total communication system including speech, body language, facial expression and tone of voice. We will look at what communication is, why we use it and how communication affects people with disabilities.

Participants will learn a range of useful signs for everyday life.
